Cupping Therapy, combined with massage therapy, is a safe, long-practiced treatment that helps ease the symptoms of acute and chronic health conditions. It promotes circulation, reduces toxins, decreases pain, and improves immunity. Cupping therapy is applied by creating a vacuum in a glass cup and then placing the cup on the body in areas of tension.
Cupping can leave non-painful, bruise-like marks for 1-4 weeks after treatment. You should not do cupping if you are taking prescription blood thinners. Caution should be used with senior citizens, pregnant women, and children.
There are different methods of cupping depending on the your needs.
Stationary cupping- Cups remain still for a period of time in a specific area of tension.
Slide cupping- Lotion is used to slide cups across a broad area to release tension and increase circulation.
Flash cupping- Cups are quickly and repeatedly placed on and off across the broadest areas of the back to improve immunity and break up chest congestion.
